About OfficiateHockey.com
Independent
OfficiateHockey.com is an independent educational resource. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by USA Hockey, the NFHS, the NCAA or the ACHA. Always follow your governing body's current rulebook and your supervisor.
We use the names of the governing bodies only to say which rulebook a page follows. We do not use their logos.
How we verify
- Every rule statement carries its rule number and its source: the book, edition and page, or a web page with the date we checked it.
- Explanations are our own plain-English wording. We quote at most one sentence, always with its citation, and from the NFHS book nothing beyond a short phrase. We never host rulebooks; we link to them.
- Every rules page shows the rule cycle it follows and the date it was last verified.
- Anything our research could not confirm on a public source is held back rather than guessed. Right now 64 items are held until they can be confirmed.
- Contacts come only from the organizations' own public pages, with a source link and check date on every row.

Rink diagrams and the simulator
The rink diagrams are drawn for this site from each code's rink rules. Officials' positions in them are illustrative. The penalty box simulator models how penalties are timed and recorded; where a code's rule is not modelled, it says so.
Who runs it
Built by WeldonPC. The pages show one labelled banner ad from AdEngine, the small ad network WeldonPC runs; for now it shows WeldonPC's own services, and it sets no cookies (see Privacy).
