Getting games: assignors and scheduling platforms
Registering makes you eligible to work. Games come from an assignor: a person (or office) who schedules officials for a league, rink, conference or tournament. Assignors use scheduling platforms to post games and collect your availability.
How it usually works
- Ask your local supervisor of officials or district contact which assignors cover your area.
- Create an account on the platform your assignor uses and keep your availability and blocked dates current.
- Accept or decline games promptly. Some assignors also ask for your level, experience and conflicts (teams you play for, coach or have family on).
- Keep your registration complete: officials with an incomplete membership cannot work sanctioned games.
Scheduling platforms
Common scheduling platforms include ArbiterSports, HorizonWebRef, RefQuest, Assignr and RefTown. Which one you use depends entirely on the assignor; OfficiateHockey.com has no connection to any of them.
